How Credit Unions Are Celebrating Pride Month

Credit unions and banks celebrate Pride Month

It’s officially Pride Month! Last year, we saw many credit unions celebrating Pride Month and particularly enjoyed this roundup from CUNA featuring notable Pride-related tweets.

We love blog posts and social media graphics, but we particularly appreciate efforts by credit unions and banks to show up for the LGBTQ+ community in more substantive ways. Need some inspiration?

Daylight, a new bank created by and for LGBTQ+ people, is asking its customers about their favorite LGBTQ+-owned businesses. Are there LGBTQ+-owned businesses in your community you can highlight or support this month?

Pride Month also represents an opportunity to meaningfully engage employees. Last year, UW Credit Union showcased stories from its LGBTQ+ employees throughout the month of June. This year, First Light Federal Credit Union is sharing videos of its employees expressing personal reflections on what Pride means to them.

Or can you tie Pride Month into your community giving efforts? Last year, Element Federal Credit Union asked its members to post photos showing their pride for chance to win a $50 gift certificate and have $100 donated to Rainbow Pride of West Virginia in their name.

We’d love to hear how you plan to celebrate Pride Month this year!
