As one of San Diego’s leading credit unions, Wheelhouse wanted to make sure that the new website reflected the place it calls home, as well as its desire to “[help] our members and our beautiful city thrive.” Imagery of San Diego, particularly on the Join page, as well as impact numbers on How we Give Back and Our Commitment to Sustainability, help to root Wheelhouse in the community it serves.
Lead with Its Digital Branch
Wheelhouse wanted more than a pretty face, even though we gave it one of those, too. It also wanted a functional and seamless user experience that not only presented compelling information but allowed visitors to take the next step—without having to visit a branch or pick up the phone. The new site features easily accessible online banking login fields from every page; branded financial calculators integrated into relevant product pages; and clear calls to action that enable members and prospects to apply for a loan, open an account, or make a payment. Furthermore, its online and mobile banking pages were transformed from text-heavy bulleted lists to visually compelling “tours” of Wheelhouse’s robust app and online banking platform.
Establish Wheelhouse CU as a Solar Leader
Wheelhouse is a future-looking credit union and proud of its status as San Diego’s #1 solar financing lender. As they say, “solar is in our wheelhouse,” which is not a claim all credit unions can make. By visually highlighting impressive impact numbers—for instance, 9,700 residential solar PV systems financed by Wheelhouse—as well as the credit union’s internal sustainability efforts—for instance, a sun-powered corporate office—Wheelhouse ensures that its commitment to sustainability is not buried in a product page, but rather given the prominence it deserves.
